MOS O ZOT

I dashur z. Redaktor:

U trondita kur lexova, në faqen kryesore në shtyp, të gazetës “The Washington Post”, një artikull të gjatë lidhur me ndërtimin e mundshëm të një farë resorti rreth Zvërnecit.

Shprehja [në gjuhën shqipe] “mos o Zot” më erdhi papritur e pakujtuar në mendje. Mbase po tregohem shumë i rreptë, por sinqerisht shpresoj që qeveria shqiptare të veprojë me kujdes dhe të mos hutohet pas premtimeve për fitime të mëdha. Me hapësira të tilla të virgjëra, nëse shpërdorohen, nuk ka më kthim pas.

Dear Mr. Editor: I was shocked to read, on the front page of yesterday’s print edition of The Washington Post, a long article about the possible construction of some sort of resort near Zvernec. The words “mos o Zot” came unbidden my mind. That may be too harsh a judgment, but I sincerely hope the Albanian government proceeds with caution and is not distracted by promises of quick large profits. Such pristine areas like that, if once compromised, cannot be restored.
